Shop Policies
• Your pet's health and wellbeing come first 100% of the time. • We DO NOT dematt pets. This causes unnecessary stress to your pet, physically and mentally. Imagine getting dreadlocks yanked all over your body! We can absolutely show any owner how to properly brush and comb their pet. In fact, we love it! • Ear hair removal is completely up to the client. Some dogs contract ear infections from ear hair removal, Some get infections from leaving it in. Please check with your vet and let the groomer know your decision. (Note: Not all dogs have hair inside their ears. This is predominantly for hypoallergenic breeds) • Clients may stay to watch their pet be groomed from the front lobby, as long as it does not cause their pet to get overly excited or stressed. This can cause a dog to get hurt unintentionally when they move around excitedly. We strive for the calmest atmosphere possible, and sometimes that involves mom and dad not being there. • Due to the stressful nature of grooming, cats cannot stay in the shop longer than 30 minutes after their groom is completed. It is simply too loud of an environment for kitties to remain. • Flea pets are only done at the end of the day, with no other pets present. This is done for a few reasons. 1) So fleas won't spread to other pets 2)So we can bomb the shop right after to ensure all the fleas are dead. Note: Flea baths are an extra $10 charge. ANYTIME a flea is found on a pet, they will automatically receive a flea bath. We will notify you immediately as well. An infested dog will be sent home, for the sake of the rest of the clients. • We do check anal glands externally on all small dogs unless otherwise noted. If they do not need it, we skip it. If you have a larger dog and would like then released, please feel free to ask the groomer. If you don't want us to release your small dogs’ anal glands, please let us know prior to the groom. We do not, under any circumstances release anal glands internally. If that’s what you'd like, please see a vet. • We HIGHLY suggest a puppies first groom does not involve a major haircut. Grooming is very loud and strange to a pup. We want to ease them in carefully. We usually suggest a bath and tidy for their first groom. • We do require the rabies vaccination to be groomed, as this is state law. • We do not take new aggressive cats or dogs as clients. The groomer’s safety is paramount, as a bad bite can end a groomer’s career. The pet is also in danger when acting aggressively, as they could bite the scissors or clippers. We will absolutely try and get to know your pet. We understand some pets might be scared and just need a little love and affection. However, aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. This includes: Biting, Scratching, Growling, Lunging, Hissing and Swatting.
